Philadelphia, PA (July 27, 2020) – Manko, Gold, Katcher & Fox’s Thomas Duncan, Esquire and Technical Consultant Will Hitchcock will present “Drones: Legal Considerations, Uses and Defenses” at the Greater Philadelphia Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel’s In-House Counsel Conference on July 29, 2020. Maria Kalogredis, Deputy General Counsel and Assistant Secretary for Wawa, Inc. and Craig Hoogstraten, Contracts Manager at James J. Anderson Construction Company, Inc. in Philadelphia will round out the panel of presenters.

This presentation will discuss the evolving legal framework governing the various uses of drones in the real estate business and will offer perspectives and best practices for both drone users and those looking to protect the privacy of their properties and projects. This program will also offer the opportunity to highlight MGKF’s new drone capabilities in environmental matters, along with recent drone footage.

Tom Duncan concentrates his practice on environmental transactional matters, regulatory counseling, and environmental litigation.  He is also a member of the firm’s air practice group.  Tom handles a wide range of environmental matters, including brownfield redevelopment projects and transactional-related environmental due diligence.  He represents entities in multi-party state and federal litigation involving cost recovery and indemnity claims, as well as contribution claims for contamination and remediation conducted under CERCLA, RCRA, and state laws.

Will Hitchcock, one of the firm’s in-house Technical Consultants, is also an FAA-licensed remote pilot for small unmanned aerial systems (drones) and has spearheaded the development of the firm’s procedures for the use of drones to secure real-time aerial photography and other valuable data to support client objectives and reduce site inspection costs.  With degrees in both Chemistry and Environmental Engineering, he has a diverse skill set that allows him to advise clients on complex technical and regulatory issues.  His experience in corporate environmental, health, safety, and sustainability programs makes Will intimately familiar with the challenges facing today’s businesses, and gives him the ability to suggest practical and cost-effective solutions.
