Manko, Gold, Katcher & Fox Partner Robert Fox
Named Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America
Philadelphia, PA (July 16, 2019) –Manko, Gold, Katcher & Fox, LLP, the environmental, energy and land use law firm based in the Philadelphia region, congratulates its partner Robert D. Fox on his selection to the Fellowship of the Litigation Counsel of America (LCA). Attorneys are invited into Fellowship after being evaluated for effectiveness and accomplishment in litigation and trial work, along with ethical reputation. LCA has kept the number of full Fellowships at an exclusive limit by design, allowing qualifications, diversity and inclusion to align effectively. Fellows are generally at the partner or shareholder level or are independent practitioners with twelve or more years experience.
“This recognition is well deserved and rounds out other accolades for Robb this year,” explained Managing Partner Jonathan Spergel. “He was also included in the Top 100 Philadelphia Super Lawyers listing along with being named the Best Lawyers® 2019 Environmental Law ‘Lawyer of the Year’ in Philadelphia.”
The LCA’s selection process is a combination of Fellow input, internal research, nominations by Fellows, attorney opinions, evaluation of client selection of counsel, limited input from active and retired judges, and reviews of acknowledgement and recognition by other peer reviewing sources and associations. The diversity sought by the LCA relates to all demographics within law, including race, sex, age and national origin, which it believes will enrich the profession, as well as the scholarly exchange of ideas among its membership. The criteria used for selection is not based purely on the number of cases tried, or the notoriety usually associated with frequent court appearances, but also effectiveness in the area of a particular lawyer’s expertise.
Fox is the immediate past managing partner of the firm and has a diverse practice involving compliance counseling, litigation and transactional work for clients in the waste, chemical manufacturing and development industries and on behalf of cities and municipalities. He is known nationally for his work under the federal Superfund law including handling many high-profile Superfund matters such as the Keystone Landfill matter, featured on 60 Minutes, and the Gowanus Canal and Newtown Creek sites. He regularly litigates Superfund issues of first impression at the trial and appellate levels in multiple jurisdictions.
